Bankruptcy: The Final Debt Solution

filing personal bankruptcy is a serious and perhaps last choice solution to your debt problems. Filing for bankruptcy though exists to help you escape overwhelming debt. Giving you a second chance to get on with your life completely debt free. I considered bankruptcy but managed a short settlement option for many of my debts instead.

In my personal opinion though it amazes me that to file for personal bankruptcy costs you approximately £250, at the time if I had spare money I would of made payments on my debts. Once again those with money and power make it difficult for the rest of us to have access to the same justice as them. I'll get off my soap box now.

Personal bankruptcy has other costs of course, most notably the potential impact on your ability to get credit, mortgages and other financial services in the future. An administrator will look after all your finances, including your debts. (This sounded very appealing to me, no more phone calls everyday hassling me for money!) You should only consider it when you are armed with all the facts and implications from a proper financial adviser CAB for example. I did use the threat of bankruptcy to help push my creditors in accepting a much smaller short settlement offer.
